Summer 2017 - Hennick BizLaw Internship at CAMH!

By: Nicole Bennewies

JD’2019 and Summer 2017 Recipient of the Hennick Centre Business Law Internship Award

My summer internship experience at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) provided me with a great introduction into the legal profession.  From having the opportunity to draft various service and research contracts to being involved in policy development to learning about corporate governance, my summer was a well-rounded experience of understanding the role of in-house corporate counsel. More importantly, working closely with one lawyer throughout the summer allowed me to develop a strong working relationship where I always knew I could ask for help or clarification when I needed it.  CAMH was truly the best 1L summer job I could have asked for.  It allowed me to develop relationships and skills that I will carry with me into my legal career.
