The JD/MBA Student Mentorship Program aims to leverage one of its most valuable assets - its students!
As a small, interconnected community, this Mentorship Program proves to be of utmost value and benefit to incoming and existing students alike.
Eligibility
While individuals have the option to choose whether they would like to be a mentor or mentee, it is often the case that students just entering their first year at Osgoode or Schulich are mentees, while mentors are composed of JD/MBA students in either their 3rd or 4th year of the Joint Program.
The Match
Students are matched based on particular criteria, including courses, professors, and interests. By doing this, both mentors and mentees are able to provide and receive advice, accordingly, most applicable to the mentee’s circumstances. Ultimately, the JD/MBA Student Mentorship Program is in place to foster and nurture long-lasting relationships between JD/MBA students.
Mentorship Benefits
Since only a few years after its inception, a defining feature of the JD/MBA Students’ Association has been a peer-to-peer mentorship program. This celebrated experience – working with and learning from upper year students – continues to push so many of us to succeed. This mentorship relationship enables students to not only expand their professional and social networks, but to obtain valuable advice from students who have been in the mentee’s position.
This application form is for future mentees. Upon completion, the Association assigns a personal mentor to every student. The goal is, foremost, your academic success, but in our experience, this program has led to lasting friendships, professional opportunities, and many late nights in conversation.
We hope you will take advantage of this exclusive hands-on opportunity today!
